Nigerian Engineers Urge Collaboration to Tackle Challenges

During the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) 2026 second quarter dinner, President Ali Alimasuya Rabiu urged for enhanced collaborations among government, academia, and industry to address the multifaceted challenges facing Nigeria, particularly concerning security and economic issues. He expressed concern over the increasing insecurity, inflation, and economic hardship affecting the population.

Alimasuya emphasized the necessity for the government to implement urgent and decisive measures to improve the welfare and security of citizens. He also called for a review of the minimum wage to better support workers amid the current economic conditions.

The event was attended by 214 distinguished engineers who were formally admitted into the fellowship of the engineering profession, highlighting the importance of professional recognition in addressing national challenges.
