NSE President Supports TETFund's N50bn Education Initiative

Rabiu Mondai, the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), has expressed strong support for the Tertiary Education Trust Fund's (TETFund) N50 billion intervention initiative. This initiative is designed to rehabilitate existing workshops and construct new laboratories necessary to meet modern industrial standards across selected federal universities.

The federal government has appointed a monitoring committee, chaired by Prof. Tunji Alausa, to oversee the implementation of this project.

The committee will ensure compliance with public procurement standards and maintain comprehensive digital records, submitting periodic reports to TETFund leadership. Mondai emphasized that this initiative marks a significant turning point in engineering education in Nigeria, aligning with NSE's advocacy for practical and innovative engineering education.

He expressed confidence that the program would strengthen Nigeria's capacity to produce globally competitive engineers, thereby driving industrial and economic growth.
