NSITF Provides Prosthetics to Injured Workers in Nigeria

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has launched a program aimed at restoring hope to injured workers by providing prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation services. During an event in Abuja, NSITF representatives, including the current boss, emphasized the importance of addressing both physical and emotional trauma resulting from workplace accidents.

Two beneficiaries, Daniel Etim and Festu Okpara, shared their experiences; Daniel lost an arm in May 2024 due to an industrial accident, while Festu lost a hand in 2015. Both received full medical support and prosthetics through the NSITF scheme, which goes beyond statutory compensation to restore dignity and confidence to injured workers.

The program has benefited 10 individuals among 78 who recently received artificial limbs, highlighting the NSITF's commitment to transforming lives and addressing the psychological effects of workplace injuries.
