NTDA and NIPR Collaborate to Boost Nigeria's Tourism

The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) have formed a partnership aimed at advancing tourism in Nigeria by utilizing the country's rich cultural heritage. Dr.

Ik Neliaku, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of NIPR, received a delegation from the NTDA led by Director General Mr. Ola Awakan.

They agreed that culture is a cornerstone of tourism development, with Nigeria's cultural score ranking highest among seven pillars in the Reputation Index. Mr.

Awakan emphasized the importance of storytelling in promoting Nigeria's vast cultural tourism potential and noted that the NIPR will collaborate with NTDA to redefine the narrative surrounding Nigeria's tourism. He also mentioned the need for Nigeria to leverage its soft power in tourism and to engage the private sector through viable public-private partnership initiatives to ensure sustainability.
