NUC Grants Full Accreditation to McPherson University’s Biotechnology Program

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to the Biotechnology program at McPherson University, as announced in a statement issued by the NUC's Director. The formal approval was communicated through a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Franci Igbasan, and signed by Engr.

Abraham Chundusu, the Director of Accreditation on behalf of the NUC's Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu. This accreditation confirms that the university has met and exceeded the required standards for nine academic programs, particularly highlighting the Biotechnology program within the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology in the College of Natural and Applied Sciences.

Dr. Sundai Omeik, the Head of the Department, described the accreditation as a reflection of the university's investment in quality education, infrastructure, and research capacity.

The NUC accreditation team expressed satisfaction with the department's readiness to produce highly skilled graduates capable of making significant contributions to the biotechnology field, particularly in areas such as drug discovery and antibiotic resistance.
