UNIBEN Achieves Full NUC Accreditation for Degree Programs

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has secured full accreditation for its degree programs from the National Universities Commission (NUC), as announced in a statement released by the institution's public relations office. This achievement, attributed to the hard work and commitment of the management and academic staff, follows a successful accreditation exercise conducted by the NUC in October and November of the previous year.

The results of this exercise were communicated in a letter dated April 7, 2026, addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregi. He expressed excitement over the outcome and commended the university's Senate, faculty, departments, and relevant committees for their diligence in meeting the accreditation requirements.

The full accreditation status is valid for five years, until 2030, and Omoregi reiterated the university's commitment to strengthening its undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs through a five-point agenda.
