NUJ FCT Launches Press Week with Medical Outreach

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT launched its Press Week with a medical outreach on Saturday at the NUJ Secretariat in Utako. The event attracted a significant number of journalists who received free medical screenings and consultations from healthcare personnel deployed from local hospitals.

The Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council emphasized the importance of access to healthcare in enhancing productivity and ensuring journalists can effectively serve society. The outreach is part of a broader initiative to encourage regular health checks among journalists.

Dr. Medic Team was fully prepared to provide general medical consultations and free medications during the outreach. The NUJ FCT Council expressed optimism that this initiative would strengthen collaboration with hospitals in the FCT and hopes to establish a continuous partnership aimed at promoting the health and well-being of media professionals.

The medical outreach marks the beginning of a week-long series of activities for the 2026 NUJ FCT Press Week, themed "2027 Elections: Defend Nigeria's Democracy Against Disinformation.".
