NUJ FCT Announces 2026 Press Week Activities in Abuja

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has unveiled its activities for the 2026 Press Week, which is set to take place at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. This annual event aims to bring together journalists, policymakers, civil society organizations, and media stakeholders to discuss critical issues affecting Nigeria's democracy and development.

The theme for this year's week-long program emphasizes the media's vital role in combating misinformation and protecting the integrity of the electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections. Key activities include a public lecture and an award ceremony, with Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State expected to chair the lecture.

Former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje will serve as co-chair, and notable figures such as Inspector General of Police and media executives will attend. Additionally, former House of Representatives member Ndudi Elumelu is expected to deliver a keynote address.

The NUJ FCT Council, led by Comrade Grace Ik, encourages full participation from journalists and stakeholders to promote ethical journalism and democratic values.
