Baruwa's Lawyer Demands Arrest of MC Oluomo Over Court Ruling

Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa's legal team, led by lawyer Tolu Babaley, is demanding the arrest of Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, for failing to enforce court rulings that recognize Baruwa as the legitimate president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). During a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Baruwa's counsel stated that despite a court of appeal affirming Baruwa's leadership, the Nigerian Police Force has not acted on the judgment for over two years.

Baruwa, who claims to have lawfully taken possession of the union's national secretariat, emphasized that he acted peacefully and legally. The lawyer called on President Bola Tinubu to direct the Inspector General of Police to enforce the court's decision, restore Baruwa's office, and arrest those unlawfully occupying it.

The situation escalated following a takeover of the union's Abuja secretariat, with Baruwa's team citing the court's recognition of his presidency.
