Nwifuru Recalls Suspended Ebonyi Officials on Father's Day

On Sunday, during a church service at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru announced the recall of suspended government officials, with the exception of the Minister of Land, whose case remains under investigation. This decision affects 25 commissioners, 62 senior special assistants, and special assistants, who were suspended in July 2025 for failing to attend government functions and for alleged dereliction of duty.

Nwifuru expressed concern over instances where appointees declared interest in contesting elections without seeking consent, describing such actions as disrespectful. He emphasized the importance of family and community leadership, urging men to reflect on their roles as pillars of society.

The governor's announcement coincided with Father's Day celebrations, where he encouraged men to uphold values of integrity, sacrifice, and service to strengthen the moral fabric of society.
