NYPD Manhunt for Suspect in Nigerian's Nightclub Murder

On February 14, 2025, Sheriff Shittu, a 30-year-old Nigerian, was shot and killed inside Quilox Lounge located in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, around 4:30 AM during a dispute. NYPD officials reported that Shittu was shot in the head and later pronounced dead at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center.

The motive for the shooting has not been detailed, but it was noted that an argument escalated between patrons. The suspect, last seen wearing a black jacket and white trousers, fled the scene in an unknown direction.

This incident marks the first fatal gun violence recorded in the precinct for the year, with five people shot by February 15, 2025. Salem Shittu, Sheriff’s brother, expressed his grief, describing him as a kind-hearted man and lamenting the lack of security measures that allowed a gun to enter the club.

The family is seeking justice for their loss.
