NYSC Ensures Safety for 2,000 Corps Members in Jigawa

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has assured the safety of 2,000 Batch B Stream corps members during their service year in Jigawa State. Muhammad Baba, the NYSC coordinator for Jigawa, confirmed that measures have been implemented to ensure a peaceful service year, especially following recent security threats that led to the suspension of swearing-in ceremonies in Jigawa and Niger states.

The orientation course for the corps members will last three weeks, with strict rules against cultism, drug abuse, and involvement in partisan politics. DCP Dahiru Aliya of the Jigawa State Police emphasized the commitment to ensuring the safety of corps members, with robust security arrangements in place, including 24/7 patrols and intelligence monitoring.

Corps members were warned against actions that could jeopardize their safety and were encouraged to adhere to camp rules and avoid unnecessary travel outside the camp.
