Kebbi Governor Idris Promises Better Welfare for NYSC Members

On a recent occasion, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris pledged to improve the welfare and security of 492 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members during their orientation ceremony held at the temporary NYSC camp in Bausaura, Jega Local Government Area. The governor emphasized the importance of the NYSC scheme as a vital platform for promoting national unity and fostering development across the country.

He noted that corps members contribute significantly to various sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, and community development in Kebbi State. Governor Idris encouraged the corps members to actively participate in camp activities, describing the orientation course as an opportunity to build discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills.

He urged them to embrace skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development programs, stressing the importance of practical entrepreneurial skills for wealth creation and self-reliance in light of limited government employment opportunities. NYSC State Coordinator Bala Dabo Kagarko disclosed that the orientation exercise successfully registered 492 corps members, comprising 307 males and 185 females.
