NYSC Promotes Unity and Tolerance Among Nigerian Youths

Ahmadu Ali, the pioneer chief executive of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), highlighted the scheme's significant contribution to fostering unity and tolerance among Nigerian youths during his visit to the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Nafiu, in Abuja. Ali stated that the NYSC continues to promote national integration through its programs, which expose corps members to diverse cultural environments across the country.

He noted that the opportunity allows young Nigerians to develop tolerance and adaptability, which remain relevant five decades after the scheme's establishment in 1973. Ali commended the NYSC for its success in managing the program and sustaining its vision, acknowledging the initial skepticism surrounding the scheme.

He also praised Brigadier General Nafiu for honoring him during the visit and recognized the solid foundation laid by previous leadership, which has kept the NYSC stable for 50 years.
