NYSC Boosts Rural Healthcare in Rivers State, Says Fubara

During a ceremony at the NYSC orientation camp in Nonwa Gbam, Tai Local Government Area, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara praised the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for its significant contributions to improving healthcare delivery in rural communities across the state. Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dagogo Wokoma, Fubara highlighted the role of NYSC health initiatives in expanding access to basic medical services for underserved populations.

He observed an increase in the number of corps members deployed to Rivers State, reflecting growing confidence in the state's security situation. Governor Fubara assured corps members of the government's ongoing support and encouragement for their service.

NYSC State Coordinator Mose Oleghe urged the state government to expedite the construction of a proposed 1,000-bed hostel to accommodate the challenges faced at the camp, which currently hosts 3,665 corps members who were officially sworn in during the ceremony.
