Nigerian Government Links NYSC Mobilization to Final Year Project Submission in Major Reform

The Nigerian government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved a significant reform tying National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization to final year project submission. This reform, outlined in the National Policy Nigeria Repository Databank (NERD), mandates that graduates from Nigerian or foreign institutions must provide proof of compliance with academic output requirements to be exempted from NYSC.

The directive, effective from October 6, aims to enhance the quality assurance of academic programs and strengthen the supervision process. Minister of Education Tunji Alausa highlighted the importance of this reform in ensuring academic integrity and student accountability within the NYSC mobilization process.
