NYSC Raises Security Concerns Over Katsina Camp Access

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has expressed significant security concerns over the shared access to its orientation camp in Katsina State, which is adjacent to the state government's Youth Craft Village. During a swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch B Stream corps members, NYSC Coordinator Evan Okwor urged the Katsina State government to establish a separate entrance for the NYSC camp to ensure absolute control over access.

He highlighted the increasing insecurity in the country and the need for compliance with operational protocols established by the NYSC headquarters. Okwor also noted that while the female hostel is undergoing renovations, the male hostel remains in a dilapidated condition, affecting the accommodation capacity for corps members.

He reaffirmed the NYSC's commitment to delivering quality services despite challenges. Governor Dikko Umaru Radda warned the 1,130 NYSC members deployed to the state against engaging in social vices that could threaten national unity and public peace.
