Zamfara NYSC Coordinator Advocates for Permanent Camp

Muhammad Lawan, the Zamfara NYSC coordinator, appealed to Governor Dauda Lawal to construct a permanent orientation camp in Zamfara during a meeting with the Zamfara council leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Gusau on Tuesday. Lawan praised the governor for his support of the NYSC scheme, stating that a permanent camp would provide adequate space, enhance security, and improve facilities for corps members during their service year.

He emphasized that this would strengthen the implementation of the mandatory three-week orientation course and overall effectiveness of the NYSC scheme in the state. Additionally, Lawan noted that the camp would serve as a center for skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development for youth.

He commended Governor Lawal for improving security and welfare support for NYSC activities and acknowledged the establishment of a state NYSC governing board. Lawan also highlighted the significant contributions of corps members to community development projects in education and healthcare.
