Mutfwang: NYSC Essential for Unity and National Integration

On Friday, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State highlighted the significance of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as a crucial platform for fostering unity and national integration. This statement was made during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch Stream II corps members.

Mutfwang, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Kenneth Buenyen, described the corps members as ambassadors of unity and catalysts for social and economic progress.

He urged the newly sworn corps members to pay special attention to the course content during their orientation and to adhere to the laws of the scheme. Mutfwang called for the inculcation of discipline, patriotism, self-reliance, and leadership skills, which should extend beyond their service year.

He reassured the corps members that his administration would collaborate with security agencies to ensure peace and stability in the state. Additionally, NYSC State Coordinator Jonathan Yavala encouraged full participation in camp activities, particularly skill acquisition programs.
