NYSC to Mobilize Only Graduates with NERD Certificate

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will now mobilize only graduates who possess the NERD certificate as part of efforts to curb certificate fraud and ensure genuine graduates participate in national service. Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, the NYSC Director General, made this announcement during the 2026 Batch Pre-Mobilization Workshop held in Abuja, Nigeria.

He urged regulatory bodies, security agencies, and relevant ministries to provide necessary support and policy guidance to enforce compliance with this initiative. Mr.

Rachel Ideawor, the NYSC Director of Corps Mobilization, described the pre-mobilization workshop as a vital platform for fostering collaboration among stakeholders. She acknowledged the significant progress made in enhancing the NYSC mobilization process but stressed the need for optimization of service delivery across the entire mobilization value chain.

The workshop was attended by representatives from various educational institutions and regulatory bodies, including JAMB, NUC, and NBTE.
