Oando Foundation Awards ₦2.5 Million to STEAM Competition Winner

The Oando Foundation hosted its Primary School STEAM Competition in Port Harcourt, where Bless Ibung Port Harcourt State Primary School from Rumuem Obio Akpor Local Government Area won the competition. The school received a classroom upgrade project valued at ₦2.5 million for their innovative project, which featured a table fan powered by a lemon.

Ms. Tonia Uduimoh, head of the Oando Foundation, stated that the foundation is committed to expanding access to quality education and ensuring that children in public schools acquire practical skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

The foundation aims to improve access to education and enhance learning outcomes by exposing pupils to hands-on learning experiences. Mr.

Jadesola Adedeji, co-founder of STEM Met, noted that the organization has impacted 50,000 children and trained 2,000 teachers through various STEM-based learning programs across Nigeria and Africa over the past 12 years. Mr.

Samuel Ogeh, Executive Chairman of RSUBEB, commended the Oando Foundation for introducing initiatives that encourage innovative and practical learning among pupils.
