Rivers Philanthropist Donates N15.8m for Science Quiz

Chief Lesi Maol, the president of Giole Global Resources Ltd, donated N15.8 million to support students in the Ogoni Secondary School Science Quiz Competition, which took place in Bori, Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State. This event, marking Maol's birthday on May 27, aimed to promote science education and intellectual development among secondary school students.

The competition featured participants from 60 registered schools, with 37 schools eventually competing in the preliminary rounds. Eight outstanding schools emerged as finalists, including Birabi Memorial Grammar School, which won N5 million, and Akpajo Secondary School, which secured second place with N3 million.

Maol emphasized the importance of education as a critical investment in society and expressed his desire to celebrate his birthday by supporting the future leaders of Ogoniland. He also urged local government officials to address dilapidated school facilities to enhance the learning environment for children.
