Dele Momodu Receives Library Excellence Award at OAU

Dele Momodu, the chairman of Ovat Media Group, was conferred the Ambassador of Library Excellence Award by Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) during its library week celebration. The event took place at the Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library, where Momodu addressed attendees, including alumni and guests.

He highlighted the significant challenges within Nigeria's political system and the necessity of building a knowledge society through libraries. Momodu criticized the current political climate, stating that full-time politicians are more likely to steal from the populace compared to part-time politicians who aim to serve the nation.

He reflected on his own educational journey, recalling the modest beginnings of his family and the importance of libraries in fostering knowledge. The Vice Chancellor of OAU, Professor Adebayo Bamir, also spoke at the event, emphasizing the role of education in shaping minds and ideas.

The occasion was hosted by Dr. Olukemi Adebimp Fadehan, the university librarian.
