Obasanjo Reveals CIA and KGB Funding of Nigerian Labor Unions Pre-1999 Reforms

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo disclosed that the CIA and KGB funded Nigerian labor unions pre-1999 reforms, aiming to ensure the independence of the nation's labor movement. He highlighted the necessity of labor reform to prevent external control of worker unions.

Obasanjo's revelations were made during a book presentation in Abuja honoring former Nigeria Labour Congress leader Hassan Sunmonu. The reforms led to the creation of the Nigeria Labour Congress as a single national labor body, free from direct government interference.
