ADC Claims Nigerians Will Decide 2027 Election Outcome

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) declared that the outcome of the 2027 presidential election will be decided by Nigerians, not by former President Olusegun Obasanjo's opinions. The ADC accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using attacks on its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to distract from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's performance regarding the economy, insecurity, and the rising cost of living.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC criticized the APC for its desperate attempts to shift the narrative following criticism from Catholic Bishops about the state of the nation. The ADC emphasized that Nigerians are more concerned about their daily hardships than political figures, asserting that the real contest in 2027 will focus on the Tinubu administration's record.

The ADC condemned the APC's pattern of attacking critics instead of addressing pressing issues like poverty and insecurity, stating that this behavior has become a default response whenever respected Nigerians voice concerns.
