ADC Positioned to Challenge APC in 2027 Elections

Barrister Solomon Dalung, the former Minister of Youth and Sport, declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is the only political party capable of successfully challenging the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential elections. He criticized the APC for squandering its goodwill and exhibiting incompetence in governance, particularly through economic policies misaligned with Nigeria's economic realities.

Dalung accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of betraying his voter base, especially in the North, and stated that the Muslim-Muslim ticket had backfired, leading to feelings of deception among voters. He asserted that the North, which initially supported Tinubu, would not back him in 2027.

Dalung emphasized that the political era of those who manipulate the electoral process is over, insisting that performance is the only way to dictate political success. He also expressed concerns about the bias and inconsistency of the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), warning that if these issues persist, there might not be an election in 2027.
