Amas Obasogie Cleared of Match-Fixing Allegations

Amas Obasogie, a goalkeeper for Singida Black Stars, has been cleared of match-fixing allegations after an internal investigation lasting three months. The club announced on Saturday that their disciplinary committee found no evidence of manipulation related to recent matches, including a fixture against Flambeau du Centre in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Jonathan Kassano, the chief executive of Singida, confirmed the findings and stated that Obasogie apologized for the mistakes that sparked suspicion. Following the outcome, the club reversed Obasogie's suspension, allowing him to return to training.

He thanked supporters and praised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their backing during the investigation. Obasogie, who joined Singida in 2025 from Ethiopian side Fasil Kenema, is also part of Nigeria's national team, the Super Eagles, for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where the team finished third.

He serves as the third-choice goalkeeper behind Stanley Nwabali and Francis Uzoho.
