Amas Obasogie Returns to Bendel Insurance for NPFL

Amas Obasogie, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, has rejoined Bendel Insurance on a one-year deal ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season. After spending two seasons away from the league, including stints with Ethiopian side Fasil Kenema and Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars, Obasogie expresses a renewed hunger and determination to succeed with the 2023 President Federation Cup champions.

He previously played a crucial role in Bendel Insurance's defense during the 2023 abridged season and the 2023/24 campaign, where he helped the team achieve a remarkable 21-game unbeaten run, keeping eight clean sheets. His performance was pivotal in securing the club's first major title in 43 years, defeating Enugu Rangers 1-0 in the 2023 Federation Cup final.

Although he has not yet been capped by the Super Eagles, Obasogie has received several national team call-ups since November 2023 and was part of Nigeria’s squad that finished third at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
