Bendel Insurance Aims for NPFL Title Under Tenebe's Leadership

Jarrett Tenebe, the chairman of Bendel Insurance FC, has expressed confidence that the club can end its 47-year wait for a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title in the 2026/27 season. Speaking to journalists before Edo Queens’ CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU B campaign in Burkina Faso, Tenebe emphasized that the club's preparations have positioned it for a serious title challenge.

Bendel Insurance will commence its NPFL27 campaign on Sunday, August 30, against Warri Wolves at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, with a kick-off time of 4 p.m. The club, which last won the title in 1979, finished fifth in the previous two seasons and is targeting a third league crown.

Tenebe noted that improved recruitment, preparations, and financial incentives for players have strengthened the team’s chances. He introduced a monetary incentive for each goal scored, which significantly improved the team's performance last season, narrowly missing out on continental qualification.

Tenebe is optimistic about the upcoming season, aiming to translate preparations into a title-winning campaign.
