Obedient Movement Raises Concerns Over ADC Crisis

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the nation coordinator of the Obedient Movement, voiced concerns about the ongoing crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during a conference in Kano.

He indicated that the disputes over party leadership and the legal battles could jeopardize the party's stability and its ability to meet electoral deadlines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Tanko stressed the importance of a strong judiciary and security agencies in safeguarding democracy.

He denied reports of Peter Obi's defection to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and reaffirmed support for Obi's candidacy, which he believes has gained traction beyond the southern regions of Nigeria. Tanko noted the emergence of grassroots support for Obi, particularly in northern states, and discussed the potential for a political alliance between Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, emphasizing the need for younger leaders to address Nigeria's challenges in education, security, and economic development.
