Obidient Movement Backs Obi After Leaving ADC

The Obidient Movement has reiterated its support for former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi after he announced his exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Yunusa Tanko, the interim national coordinator of the movement, stated that Obi's appeal continues to grow across Nigeria despite ongoing attempts to undermine his political relevance ahead of the 2027 elections.

The movement is committed to grassroots mobilization, with support structures emerging across various regions, including 19 states in Northern Nigeria. Tanko dismissed claims that Obi's support base is weakening and emphasized the need for political reform in Nigeria.

Obi clarified that his departure from the ADC was not due to personal disagreements with party leaders, including David Mark and Atiku Abubakar, whom he continues to respect. He expressed concerns over internal disputes within the ADC that distract from addressing national issues and reaffirmed his belief in a better Nigeria through compassionate leadership.
