Obidient Movement Backs Obi's Exit from ADC Amid Deadline

The Obidient Movement has expressed its backing for Peter Obi's exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Yunusa Tanko, the national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, praised Obi's decision, describing the five-day deadline imposed by the ADC as a trap.

Tanko articulated that the current political landscape is fraught with legal uncertainties and a toxic environment, which necessitated Obi's departure. He noted that the tight timeline made it impossible for Obi to remain a candidate under the ADC, and emphasized that this move was essential to preserve democracy and bolster the strength of the opposition.

The statement was made during an appearance on Arise TV on a Monday, where Tanko elaborated on the implications of Obi's decision and the broader political context involving other figures such as Rabiu Kwankwaso, who also defected to the NDC.
