Aondoakaa Urges Alia to Reconcile with Akume

Michael Aondoakaa, a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, advised Benue State Governor Alia to heed President Bola Tinubu's directive to reconcile with George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). Aondoakaa made this appeal on Tuesday during an appearance on Arise Television's morning show.

The call for reconciliation follows a face-off between Alia and Akume that intensified after the APC's ward congress held across the state last Wednesday. The crisis reportedly began shortly after Alia's inauguration in 2023, leading to a split among party members into two factions.

Meanwhile, Regina Akume, a federal lawmaker representing Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, publicly reaffirmed her marriage to George Akume amidst public speculation regarding their family dynamics. She emphasized her commitment to her marriage during a New Year mass, addressing the congregation with a firm tone and highlighting her family's unity despite external commentary.
