APC Chieftain Urges Compliance with Tinubu on Rural Funds

Darlington Nnaoma Onyekacha, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, has called on Nigerian governors to comply with President Bola Tinubu's directives regarding rural development and the allocation of local government funds. Onyekacha expressed concern over the persistent underdevelopment in rural communities across Nigeria, despite the significant financial resources allocated to local governments.

He pointed out the high rates of poverty, unemployment, and infrastructural deficits in these areas, which starkly contrast with the large inflow of funds. Onyekacha criticized the failure of state House of Assembly members to hold the governor and local government executives accountable for the funds received from Abuja.

He pledged to combat underdevelopment in the Ikwuano constituency and ensure that every fund intended for community development is utilized effectively.
