NDC Convention: Obi, Kwankwaso, Dickson Attend in Abuja

Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former Governor of Kano State, and Seriake Dickson, a national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), arrived for the party's special convention held in Abuja.

The convention, taking place at the Idu area of the Federal Capital Territory, aimed to formally adopt the party's presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 general elections. The event, scheduled for Saturday, attracted numerous top political figures and party leaders from across the country.

Dr. Kwankwaso, a former presidential candidate, received a warm welcome from supporters of the Kwankwasiyya movement, dressed in his trademark white babanriga and red and white cap.

Peter Obi's presence was highly anticipated among party faithful, as he arrived in a black kaftan and cap. The convention is expected to culminate in the adoption of the party's presidential standard bearer for the 2027 elections, with significant participation from party stakeholders, including former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege.
