Obi Warns of Nigeria's Rising Terrorism Ranking

Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate and ex-governor of Anambra State, raised concerns regarding Nigeria's deteriorating security situation during an interview with Symphony TV. He noted that Nigeria currently ranks 8th among the countries most affected by terrorism, a significant decline from 4th place when the current administration took office.

Obi emphasized that the situation is worsening and warned that Nigeria could move even higher on the global terror list if not controlled. He pointed out ongoing security challenges across various regions, including attacks by armed groups, banditry, kidnappings, and insurgency operations.

Obi called for better coordination among security agencies and stronger intelligence gathering to address these issues, while also highlighting the social and economic factors that drive violence in the country.
