Peter Obi Criticizes $5m Spent on Foreign Education Amidst Nigerian School Crisis

Former Nigerian presidential candidate Peter Obi has raised concerns over the reported $5 million spent on the education of children of top public officials abroad, amidst millions of Nigerian children being out of school. Obi highlighted the need for public responsibility in addressing deep education inequities and poverty in the country.

He called for a full investigation into the matter involving businessman Aliko Dangote and former NMDPRA CEO Farouk Ahmed. Obi emphasized the moral implications of such extravagant spending in the face of widespread educational deprivation in Nigeria, proposing alternative uses for the funds to improve the education sector.
