Obi won 2023 election — Ex-SGF,  Babachir Lawal

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, claimed that Peter Obi had won the 2023 presidential election. In an interview on Channels Television's Politics Tonight, Lawal stated that based on available facts, Obi had defeated Bola Tinubu to become Nigeria's 16th president.

He emphasized that the election results he had monitored showed Obi as the clear winner, despite Tinubu's confidence in his victory. Lawal also criticized Tinubu, calling him arrogant and stating that his arrogance could be his downfall.

When asked if Tinubu would be offended by his comments, Lawal expressed his belief that the truth should not be offensive, and he stood by his assertion that Obi had won the election.
