Kogi Governor Launches Renovation of 728 Schools

On Thursday, Governor Ahm Usman Ododo of Kogi State officially launched the renovation of 728 government-owned public secondary schools across the state. This initiative is part of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project, which aims to revitalize the educational sector.

During the ceremony held at the Government House in Lokoja, Deputy Comrade Salifu Oyibo Joel described the initiative as a significant milestone in the administration's efforts to reposition education as a cornerstone of sustainable development. Governor Ododo emphasized the need for urgent upgrades to public schools to meet modern educational standards, asserting that every child deserves a decent learning environment.

The project, which involves 30 technical service providers, is set to enhance learning conditions, improve safety, and boost teacher morale. A budget of N1.4 billion has been allocated for the payment of examination fees for students in public schools.

The governor also called for community involvement to ensure the project's sustainability and quality.
