Ogbuagu Advocates for Increased Road Funding in Nigeria

During a farewell ceremony, Clement Ogbuagu, the retiring director of highway construction at the Federal Ministry of Works, called on the federal government to increase funding for road infrastructure across Nigeria. He stated that sustained investment in federal highways is essential for driving economic growth and improving connectivity throughout the country.

Ogbuagu described the road sector as the backbone of Nigeria's economy and stressed that inadequate funding undermines economic activity and slows national progress. He urged the federal government to prioritize road infrastructure funding and ensure prompt release of funds for timely project completion.

Ogbuagu also commended the Minister of Works, David Umahi, for introducing innovative technologies in highway construction, particularly the adoption of concrete pavement, which significantly improves the quality and durability of federal roads. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the civil service and encouraged civil servants to uphold discipline and integrity in their duties.
