Ogun State Suspends Environmental Firms Over Lead Poisoning Negligence

Ogun State government has suspended three environmental consultancy firms for professional negligence in addressing lead acid battery pollution at ULAB Recycling Company in Ogijo. Ola Oresanya, the State Commissioner for Environment, announced the suspension following a review meeting and audit process that revealed the firms' failure to report and correct the pollution situation.

The firms, including Vyne Nurt Limited and Saag Chemic Nigeria Limited, were found culpable for not installing pollution abatement devices as required. The government aims to clear their names pending further investigations.
