Veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66. A throwback interview from July 4, 2025, published by Oyinmomo TV, has gone viral, revealing his seven-year struggle with a severe ulcer.

In the interview, Ogogo candidly described his health challenges, including episodes of vomiting blood and severe pain that limited his ability to eat or move. Doctors at King Solomon Hospital confirmed significant internal damage due to the ulcer.

He admitted that his condition worsened due to self-medication for malaria, leading to a point where he could not retain food, with only cornmeal being tolerable. The resurfaced clip has sparked widespread grief and discussions online regarding self-medication and healthcare issues in Nigeria.

In his hometown of Ilaro, tributes poured in as the community mourned his passing.
