Taiwo Hassan, Nollywood Actor Ogogo, Laid to Rest

Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was laid to rest in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday, August 24, following his death on Sunday, August 23, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer. His passing marked the end of a remarkable journey in Yoruba cinema, where he spent over four decades establishing a significant legacy.

His daughters had publicly revealed the severity of his health condition prior to his death and sought assistance for his treatment. Hassan began his acting career in 1981 while working as a mechanic and transitioned to full-time acting in 1994.

He was known for his roles in various productions, including a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 2023 AMVCA for his performance as the Alaafin. His funeral attracted numerous colleagues from the Yoruba film industry, who gathered to pay their respects and honor his contributions to Nigerian cinema.
