Amusan Advocates for Yewa-Awori Governorship in Ogun 2027

Jelili Amusan, a former member of the House of Representatives, has cautioned against the continuation of the same local government and ward governors in Ogun State, asserting that it is the turn of the Yewa-Awori people to produce the next governor. Speaking to journalists shortly after presenting Kudirat Balogun as the running mate to Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 elections, Amusan described the current political developments as inconsistent with principles of fairness and equity.

He noted that every section of Ogun State has the constitutional right to seek political office and that power should not remain concentrated in specific areas. Amusan emphasized the importance of maintaining political balance and unity to strengthen democracy, urging traditional rulers and political leaders across the state to support the Yewa-Awori cause.

He argued that the Yewa-Awori people have earned the moral and political right to occupy the governorship seat, which he believes would correct longstanding political imbalances.
