Ogun West Group Rejects Adeola's Governorship Bid

A socio-political group in Ogun West, Ogun State, has declared that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola's candidacy for the governorship does not reflect the interests of the Yewa-Awori region. During a conference held in Ilaro on Thursday, Akeem Adetunji alleged that Adeola has previously misused resources and undermined the region's interests during the 2019 and 2023 elections.

The group criticized Adeola for not being present during significant political events in the past, such as the governorship contests of late Olurin in 2011 and Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka in 2015.

They emphasized that Adeola does not share a historical background or journey with the community, making it unreasonable for them to support his aspirations. Prominent community leader Olabisi Ogundar expressed deep skepticism regarding Adeola's sudden emergence as a candidate, given his past lack of support for the region.
