Babajid Declares Ogun Governorship Ambition, Promises Jobs

Rotimi Babajid, a chieftain of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), officially declared his intention to run for the Ogun State governorship seat in 2027 during an event at the APM secretariat in Abeokuta. He unveiled his manifesto, which includes a commitment to create no fewer than 150,000 jobs within his first four years in office.

Babajid emphasized the need for economic growth, infrastructure development, educational reform, and improved healthcare delivery. He outlined plans to establish industrial growth clusters and provide low-interest loans to small and medium enterprises, aiming to support youth entrepreneurship.

Additionally, he pledged to rehabilitate major roads, enhance public transport, and improve electricity supply. In education, Babajid promised to upgrade public schools and ensure a high retention rate of students.

His healthcare plan includes upgrading primary health centers and providing free maternal and child healthcare. Babajid's campaign theme is "People First," focusing on transparency and inclusivity in governance.
