Ogun State Launches Free Health Insurance for Retirees

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the Ogun State Retiree Health Insurance Scheme, which provides free health insurance coverage for retirees. This initiative, announced in a statement by the state head of service, Kehinde Onasanya, is designed to ensure that retired public servants continue to have access to quality and affordable healthcare services.

The scheme will involve a monthly payment of N17.4 million to cover health insurance premiums, allowing retirees to enjoy full coverage without any personal contributions. This move marks a significant milestone in the administration's social welfare agenda, reflecting a commitment to improving the welfare and dignity of retirees who face increasing health challenges and financial pressures associated with medical care.
