Ogun disseminate guidelines for better accountability in drug management

Ogun State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, has introduced guidelines to enhance accountability in drug management.

The establishment of the Ogun State Drug Health Commodities Management Agency (OGDHCMA) is seen as crucial for the efficient functioning of the health system. The agency will support the Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) Scheme, ensuring transparency and accountability in drug management to prevent misuse of funds.

Dr. Coker emphasized the importance of continuous access to safe, affordable, and quality medicine in health facilities.

The Operational Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for the DRF Scheme aim to improve efficiency, foster innovation, and ensure compliance. Stakeholders, including Resolve to Save Lives and the Clinton Health Access Initiative, have provided support for the initiative.

The successful implementation of the guidelines will depend on proper execution and adherence by all health facilities.
