Gov. Abiodun Wins APC Senate Ticket for Ogun West

On a recent Sunday night, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State clinched the APC senatorial ticket for Ogun West, while his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedun, stepped down from the race to allow Hon.

Jimoh Ojugbel to emerge as the candidate. The primary election, held across five local government areas, was reported to be free and fair, with Ojugbel receiving 85,552 votes.

The process was monitored across 236 wards in the state, with 810 votes and 812 accredited party members in Ward 3, Iperu, Ikenne Local Government Area. Ojugbel, a three-term member of the House of Representatives, emphasized his commitment to the welfare and development of the people in his district.

Solomon Adeola, another APC member, described the primary as orderly and indicative of the party's organization ahead of the 2027 general elections. The results were announced by Dr.

Dapo Odukoya, confirming Ojugbel's candidacy.
