Ogun Governor Names Amirul Hajj and Board Chair for 2026

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has officially appointed Alhaji Shamsudeen Adebayo Apelogun as the Amirul Hajj for the 2026 pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Additionally, Sheikh Zakariyah Ishaq Olorungbeb has been appointed as the chairman of the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board for the same year.

These appointments were made as part of the state government's strategic preparations to ensure a smooth coordination and successful execution of the Hajj exercise for pilgrims from Ogun State. The governor emphasized the importance of diligence, integrity, and high-level commitment in the discharge of duties by both the Amirul Hajj and the board chairman.

He also reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing the necessary support and institutional structure to guarantee a hitch-free pilgrimage experience for the intending pilgrims from the state.
